Public bug reported:

Recently the following has started happening to me:

Suddenly the desktop stops taking any input. Strange thing is, I can
still move the cursor around with the touchpad, but clicking stuff
doesn't have any effect, neither by tapping oon the pad nor using the
hardware button. Keyboard seems to stop working as well, I can't switch
workspaces, use keyboard shortcuts, or change to a console with alt +
fx. If I close the lid, laptop goes into standby as expected, waking up
works too, but the situation is the same; no input possible. Only thing
working is the power button: pressing it brings up the shutdown menu,
and the shutdown countdown starts and laptop shuts down.

This problem occurs randomly. I can't reproduce it. My feeling is that
it must have been introduced with some of the updates trickling down to
me during the last two weeks. There is nothing interesting in syslog

My laptop is a Macboob rev2. I am using the proposed branch.

version_signature is Ubuntu 2.6.27-12.28-generic, x86_64.
