If it is the case that you have broken packages that need to be removed, here is one way to do it:
If you run System->Administration->Synaptic Package Manager (to do so you'll be prompted for your password) you'll see a column on the left side of the synaptic window which lists All / Broken / Community Supported / etc. Click on the Broken line, and the right side of the window will change to show the list of broken packages. If the list is empty then that's not what the problem is so ignore this comment. If there are packages they will be listed with a red mark to the left of the package name. Right-click on each of these red marks and select "Mark for Complete Removal" and then click the Apply button along the top of the window. This should remove the broken packages and the error you are encountering. Please reply to this bug if this indeed fixes your problem. -- Synaptic package manager showing error message https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/324165 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
