Is this a problem in any other distributions?
Could you please try using the live cd of another distro and see if you
have the same problem. If so this could be a hardware problem.
Also could you please run the following command in terminal :
dmesg > dmesg.output.txt
This will created a file called dmesg.output.txt, which you can attach
to this bug. This will tell us if Ubuntu has detected your hardware.
