I can confirm this. I have an Athlon box that had edgy and was recently dist-upgraded to feisty. The old kernel (linux-image-2.6.17-10-generic) boots fine, but the two new ones linux-image-2.6.19-7-generic and linux- image-2.6.20-2-generic hang after discovering the mouse.
