Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

If the menu is showing and the application becomes unresponsive, xorg (I
am not sure who is actually responsible, but it holds for all window
managers and various applications qt and gtk) does not let the user
"unclick" the menu. When a menu is showing no other input is accepted
outside the menu. Thus, the menu wont go away and the screen does not
allow any other input from the user.

How to reproduce it: (you need another computer, or you need to know how
to stop/pause a process from the command line. Which I don't)

1. Click on the top menu of your application. (You can also use the right click
menu in firefox)
2. When it is showing, pause the application from running. You can do this by
switching VT and doing it through command line. I do it by x forwarding
gnome-system-monitor to my laptop and right clicking on the process and
clicking "stop".
3. Now the application should become unresponsive and you cannot close the
menu. You cant even alt+tab away from it. You are stuck. Everything else runs
fine its just that you cannot change focus or click/type anywhere. Simply
continue the application from the gnome-system-monitor or command line to get
control back.

(I added this bug to compiz before, but now I realize that its more
general then that. I will remove the old bug report)

** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
