Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
Since downloading firefox 3.06, download manager has become a problem in Ubuntu 8.10. I also have that recent update in my Vista boot and don't recall it being a problem there. At first, download manager would just be blank (orange). Then I noticed it would list a longer download, but shorter downloads (i.e. a webpage) would just blip and disappear. The last couple of days, I've noticed the webpage downloads stay listed in download manager, but inevitably as failures. Actually, since I've downloaded them to desktop, I can open them just fine, even after following my usual practice of deleting the page folder and only saving and opening the html file. I am also getting failure messages on my screen when downloading web pages, which I have to click shut to continue browsing.
