Sorry for the delayed response but thanks for the constant updates and
testing. It would seem this particular issue of not even being able to
install has been resolved as of Jaunty Alpha4. If you could open a new
bug regarding the ACPI warning that would be better. It's just helpful
to the kernel team if bug reports target one specific issue. Also, I
think the startup sound issue you are seeing might be related to
pulseaudio. If you killed pusleaudio beforehand I think the distortion
might go away.
