is this something that needs to be issued every time the kernel changes? because now that I just installed the following packages: linux-backports-modules-2.6.27-12-generic (2.6.27-12.13) linux-headers-2.6.27-12 (2.6.27-12.28) linux-headers-2.6.27-12-generic (2.6.27-12.28) linux-image-2.6.27-12-generic (2.6.27-12.28) linux-restricted-modules-2.6.27-12-generic (2.6.27-12.17) today, and my webcam Bus 006 Device 002: ID 0ac8:301b Z-Star Microelectronics Corp. ZC0301 WebCam wont work unless I specifically start applications using the cam LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib32/libv4l/v4l1compat.so
