Public bug reported:
I installed some old workstations with xubuntu 8.04 i386. Today i make a
system-upgrade and only the package hal-info was new. After this and a
reboot, the screen-resolution is very low and i can not reconfigure a
usable resolution. A downgrade of the hal-info package to version
20080317 the xserver screen-resolution ist ok.
A had two types of hardware:
AMD with NVIDIA-Grafik and Fujitsu-Siemens Scenic T i845G with Intel-Grafik.
The bug was on both machinestypes!
