Finally, I think backports are more appropriated to such a situation. Indeed this bug is not enough critical to ask for a SRU process (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates), because: - only some cases of network games seem to be affected (network game on internet servers or LAN with older versions); - there doesn't appear to be any safe patch available.
Backports should be a quicker and easier process, in the way that we won't need to build a safe patch from the newer version, and we will only have to re-package the Jaunty package according to the Hardy/Intrepid context. According to the backport process (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports#Backport Process), I'm adding this bug to hardy-backports because nothing seems to have been done yet. Also, there is 0.6.3 version in Jaunty, maybe the network game of the 0.6.2 version in Intrepid is broken as well… This has to be confirmed. ** Also affects: hardy-backports Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Current version is obsolete https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/258803 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
