Please do not close this bug report. It has certainly nothing to do with licensing, since Ubuntu is officially entitled to use the official Firefox icon. For this reason, the official icon should be provided in high resolutions as well to make it look as good as possible. I know that I can replace my icon with a better-looking one, but I want this to happen in the Ubuntu distribution so that everybody can enjoy the good- looking icon.
