Thanks for replying, It seems to be a configuration problem, what I actually don't understand, is why when I choose a gnome session with GDM I get the back-light controls, whereas I don't when I choose a KDE session. I am normally using the Intel graphic adapter.
As I said in my first, I still can use acpitool -l to change the backlight within command line. And I experience the same problem from an Intrepid ubuntu (gnome) with Kde 4.2 packages installed from the ppa and from a fresh install of Kubuntu jaunty on a fresh partition. I will run dmesg once again and see what's going wrong. Is there a way to know whether a key stroke triggers the event associated with or not? -- cannot control backlight on lenovo t400 with KDE 4 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/318327 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
