** Summary changed: - EXA has severe performance impact on ATI R580 (X1900) + [R580] EXA has severe performance impact on ATI R580 (X1900)
** Description changed: - Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati - Jaunty upgrade 1:6.9.0.91-1ubuntu3 had severe performance impact on my "ati" driver install. The desktop was unusable as even simple operations made CPU peak at 100%. Option AccelMethod "XAA" brought performance back to where it was before (not so bad). besides from that option i don't have any option in xorg.conf device section. Let me know if you need more information. - Card details from lspci: - + [lspci] 05:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc R580 [Radeon X1900] Subsystem: ATI Technologies Inc Device 0b12 Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx- Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx- Latency: 0, Cache Line Size: 64 bytes Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 16 Region 0: Memory at e0000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M] Region 2: Memory at fd6f0000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K] Region 4: I/O ports at 5c00 [size=256] [virtual] Expansion ROM at fd600000 [disabled] [size=128K] Capabilities: <access denied> Kernel modules: fglrx 05:00.1 Display controller: ATI Technologies Inc Device 7264 Subsystem: ATI Technologies Inc Device 0b13 Control: I/O- Mem- BusMaster- SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx- Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx- Region 0: Memory at fd6e0000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [disabled] [size=64K] Capabilities: <access denied> -- [R580] EXA has severe performance impact on ATI R580 (X1900) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/315889 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
