Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
I'm using firefox-3.0 (output from apt-cache policy: Installed: 3.0.5 +nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.10.1) on Ubuntu 8.10 and almost no flash videos work for me the way they're supposed to. Videos that aren't on YouTube don't work, and videos that _are_ on YouTube make Firefox freeze up for a few minutes and then crash. Some videos have worked on YouTube but it's only around 30%, and I never watch videos on YouTube anymore because having my Firefox crash is just too much trouble for a 30% chance of a video. I've always had a problem with flash on my computer, ever since Hardy- and I find it hard to recommend that people should use Ubuntu if they can't watch flash. I really love Ubuntu, and that's why I hate myself when I realize that I've stopped doing things on Ubuntu that I used to do on Windows just because it doesn't work in Ubuntu. Flash is an important factor in computers nowadays and this must work for every computer! ** Affects: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Flash does not work in Firefox 3.0 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/327608 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
