Chris, Thanks for all your help. The lack of sound issue, as you know, has been resolved...however it is still puzzling to me on what was causing this problem.
I finally found the keyboard mapping selection under SYSTEM and keyboard. It's still a whole new learning process with this Ubuntu /Linux system. Thanks again...and have a great day !
