Alexander, Thanks for the info. Is there something wrong with the bug I had already filed and linked to above? ( http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/317976 ) I believe it is filed against the correct package. If there is more information needed or the source package is not correct, could you let me know in the comments to that bug? I'll stop posting here as tehy bugs may not be related.
