I suffer from this bug too (Ubuntu 8.10, OO 2.4.1-11)

In previous versions of Open Office, it was possible to specify an URL
in the File->Open dialog. OpenOffice would then load the entire web-
page (including css, layout, images etc.) as if it was any other
document. It's not a simple fetch of a single-file from an URL (ok,
maybe it does that too), but the loading of a whole web-page.

You could then save it, or my typical use: export to a PDF to save a
nicely rendered version of the web-page.

Now if I open "http://example.com/interesting.html"; I get a error
"/home/user/http://example.com/internesting.html"; - File Does not Exist.
