Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.27-11-generic
Always and reproducibly so, very early in the boot process, almost immediately after picking the kernel from the GRUB menu. It actually happens with the two earlier 2.6.27 kernel packages (linux- image-2.6.27-7-generic, linux-image-2.6.27.9-generic) in the same way (though exact trace output may vary). I've attached the last screen full of output I get. I couldn't scroll upwards. I had to photograph my monitor and type it out manually, so I'll attach both formats of the trace in case I made an error. Please advise how to produce a more complete trace. This board is basically netbook hardware (i945GC/ICH7/RTL8111), but with a dual-core Atom 330. I'm using the latest "LF94510J.86A" official bios, tried reloading defaults, to no avail. The system runs fine using the kernel from the linux- image-2.6.24-21-generic package, which I use as a workaround, but I fear this line may not be available anymore in future Ubuntu releases. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: 2.6.27 d945gcf2 intrepid x64 -- Intrepid 64bit 2.6.27 kernels panic on boot on Intel D945GCF2 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/326731 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
