I have exactly the same problem with Easy Peasy 1.0 (formerly Ubuntu
EEE) on an ASUS Eee PC 1000H.

The custom connection I've setup in the "Mobile Broadband" tab in
Network Connections does not show up in network manager, but instead a
"Auto Mobile Broadband (CDMA)" connection appears, which obviously does
not work at all.

I could solve the problem by modifying the "10-modem.fdi" file the same
way Cleber did. After doing that, the entry for my Broadband provider
showed up in network manager and I could successfully established an
Internet connection. I tried a couple of times, even unplugged the
modems a good few times, and it worked every time.

Cheers for that Cleber. :-)

Btw.: I did not notice any performance problems at all. As a matter of
fact speedtest.net reported similar speeds on a Mac with the official
software.
