I also have recently been experiencing this bug on an internal drive /dev/sda5. Ubuntu no longer mounts the drive when it boots. Also I experience the error message when I attempt to mount the drive by clicking on the drive in Nautilus. However, I can mount the drive with the command: sudo mount -t vfat -o uid=1000,utf8 /dev/sda5 /media/sda5.
