Well, I have very bad news. It can a isolated case, I know, but at this. I doubt it.
The .asoundrc doesn't seems to work anymore with the latest version of PulseAudio on Jaunty. pulseaudio: Instalado: 0.9.14-0ubuntu3 Candidato: 0.9.14-0ubuntu3 Tabela de versão: *** 0.9.14-0ubuntu3 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Using the .asoundrc workaround, only firefox can actually produces any sound. But, it doesn't appears on 'gnome sound preferences', bypassing PulseAudio management like used to. All other apps, that appears on 'gnome sound preferences' *who actually are using PulseAudio* doesn't output any kind of sound. (No Digital Data) Very frustrating indeed. At this rate, I guess it will be wiser to not use S/PDIF at all on Ubuntu. This bug should have the highest priority. Does anyone here knows any new workaround to this?
