Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mplayer
When accessing RTSP streams from mplayer (I tried the command line, but the plug-in works the same way), skip forward or backwards (by 1 min or 10 min) keystrokes go to 1 min or 10 min from the start of the file, not from the current position. I am using the BBC radio 4 site (go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/progs/listenagain.shtml then select a program, it will complain about totem not being able to play the file, ignore this, and chose the "use standalone player" option on the left - this will play it with the mplayer plugin - you can then copy the URL and verify the problem happens with the mplayer command line). This is on Edgy. EG: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ mplayer rtsp://rmv8.bbc.net.uk/radio4/comedy/mon1830.ra MPlayer 2:0.99+1.0pre8-0ubuntu8 (C) 2000-2006 MPlayer Team CPU: Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2600 @ 2.16GHz (Family: 6, Model: 14, Stepping: 8) CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 1 SSE2: 1 Compiled with runtime CPU detection. ... then try the arrow keys. Passing -ss on the command line doesn't seem to work either.
