"In Totem 2.24 you can already load a subtitle by right-clicking on a file in
the playlist, and in Totem 2.26, you'll be able to load it from the subtitles
menu under "View""

you can already do it with intrepid, and in jaunty you'll have the
option under the view menu. thanks.
