Public bug reported: In Jaunty a3, notifications are positioned over the Gnome panel, hiding important part of it.
Steps to reproduce: 1) System > Preferences > Pop-up notifications 2) Preview You will notice, that the notification is positioned over the Desktop switcher and Trash icon, effectively hiding them. Now try to change the position to upper right: the popup now hides volume, network, date/time and user switcher applets. In any case user is required to close the popup before he can access the hidden part of the panel. Proposed solution: Offset the popup's vertical position by the height of the gnome-panel, placing the popup notification in the desktop area.
