I think the point of this bug is that by default, the sound of tuxguitar is not
working.
That forces the users to look in google or forums looking for "no sound in
tuxguitar" to get it to work, that is not user friendly.
True story: a friend has been using tuxguitar with no sound for months, he
thought it was a bug in the program.
I wonder how many people tried it, saw it didn't work, and uninstalled it.

The sound should be working by default. For platforms with no sound...
users would not expect sound then! An error message could be displayed
in this case anyway...

The best approach IMHO is to install tuixguitar-jsa automatically along with
tuxguitar, and display a message to the user saying he/she could get better
sound quality by installing timidity and configuring it in the preferences.
Maybe timidity should not be installed by default, as it is a deamon that would
be running all the time.

Or, if nothing else, at least display a message on the first start up
explaining what to do to get sound.
