pedro, it seems to me that what haymansfield is reporting is simply the strange behaviour of dual mode: for pdfs with >2 pages, dual mode puts the first page of the pdf to the right, leaving the space to the left empty. (this does not happen with 1-page or 2-page pdfs). the result is, at a sufficiently high zoom level (for my 1024x768, this is 125%, for higher resolutions this would be 150% or more) you open the pdf and see an empty space...
