@bopb I'm not sure that your closing point has much relevence to completing this bug. It merely suggests you accept the mediocrity of the situation. Of course the situation could be much worse than this, thats just stating the obvious. This does not mean its acceptable. Oh and there are many other out of the box style Linux distros out there as well as desktop solutions such as PC-BSD. If you have a look around you will find there are dozens of alternatives to Ubuntu. Also the good old 'but its free' argument is always bogus and classically used as an excuse. Ubuntu has a lot of members on board and is sponsored commercially so there isn't an excuse for no action here.
