The problem has only been partially fixed by released updates, as I said
in my previous post the bug has been fixed for the vendor string "Dell
Inc." but not for "Dell Computer Corporation". This is exactly the same
bug, it's just older Dells with the same bug have a different vendor ID
for some reason. The latest kernell (2.6.27-11.27) does not fix the
issue on my Inspiron 1100.
