In jaunty I can confirm this quite old and very annoying bug, which no solutions have been so far provided for. The symptoms are always the same: I have defined in knetworkmanager two wired connections for my laptop, one with autoamtic (dhcp) ip configurations that I use at home, the second with manual ip configuration I use at work. Well, when I boot my laptop at work, and I try to convince knetworkmanager to choose the work connection, nothing happens and I can see these error messages in syslog:
Jan 30 10:14:39 eagle NetworkManager: <WARN> wait_for_connection_expired(): Connection (2) /org/freedesktop/NetworkManagerSettings/Connection/1 failed to activate (timeout): (0) Connection was not provided by any settings service Even if try to delete the connection, and to create again it, when I click on 'Save&Connect' I get an error message: Jan 30 10:18:50 eagle NetworkManager: <WARN> connection_get_settings_cb(): connection_get_settings_cb: Invalid connection: 'NMSettingIP4Config' / 'addresses' invalid: 1 Jan 30 10:18:55 eagle NetworkManager: <WARN> wait_for_connection_expired(): Connection (2) /org/freedesktop/NetworkManagerSettings/Connection/5 failed to activate (timeout): (0) Connection was not provided by any settings service So I am forced to quit knetworkmanager, to launch nm-applet, and to use it to choose the work connection, and nm-applet works without any problem. -- knetworkmanager doesn't start connections (wired and wireless) with manually configured ip https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/299119 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
