I'm seeing this with konsole in KDE 4.2 on Kubuntu 8.10 amd64. It doesn't matter if I start konsole from Alt-F2 or panel icon, the end result is the same. konsole starts up ok, but "Sorry - Plasma Workspace" modal message box comes up as well.
