Sorry, an update. If I am playing from a playlist it does move on to the next song in the play list and play that song. It is only after playing the last song in the playlist.
I noticed that after playing the last song in the play list the play button in the application stays pressed. Pressing the stop media button unpresses the play button so you can then press the play button again. If the play button is pressed after the song has stopped, pressing the play button will not start the selected song playing.
