It takes about 5 seconds for the wireless network to disconnect after
activating the wireless kill switch (4 sec. for bluetooth to disable.)  If
the system is booted with the kill switch enabled, wireless networking is
never activated.

However, there are other issues with Jaunty.  Once I activate the wireless
kill switch (or boot with it enabled), I cannot re-enable wireless
networking.  Disabling the kill switch has no effect.  Trying to do:
  sudo iwlist wlan0 scan
after disabling the kill switch results in:
  wlan0    Interface doesn't support scanning : Network is down

Bluetooth seems to respond to the kill switch correctly.
