I notice it mostly on my eee 701, where it will timeout when I get it wrong faster than it will go through when I get it right. This is something like 800Mhz with 2Gb RAM. However, my dev laptop is dual core, 1.66Ghz per core, and it's a noticeable (although less) delay there also.
