Sorry, but I cannot tell you for Jaunty nor Intrepid, because I have not installed them - Hardy will survive both;-)
In Hardy-amd64 I am currently happy with 'libsensors.so.4.0.2' for hardware monitoring with it87 (lm-sensors) - it calculates correctly instead of just skipping decimals. Besides that I also have installed 'libsensors.so.3.1.5' because it is required by 'apcupsd' which I use as well.
