Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.17-4-k7
Attempting to boot with 2.6.17-4-k7 does absolutely nothing, it just drops to a completely blank screen straight out of the grub menu. There is no disk activity, and there are no complaints when I reboot that any file systems are dirty. Processor is a AMD Athlon XP (32 bit,) root file system is reiserfs, all packages are as up to date as I can get them at the moment. I think that all low level packages are up to date and properly installed. Also, I don't think that this kernel version ran update-grub by itself, but I wouldn't swear to that.
