Sorry.
I had to reinstall ubuntu 8.10, after some wierd lost of rights, no write
rights on second harddrive, while it worked a few minutes before.

Anyway, after reinstalling Ubuntu the problems with Pidgin where gone, and
its working fine now.
Thank you for trying to help me.
