  I have upgraded to Kubuntu8.10 some weeks ago, and recently I have 
encountered a weird phenomena:
  If two KDE4 users are logged in on two different virtual terminals (e.g. 
Ctrl+Alt+F7 & Ctrl+Alt+F8) and then one of the users plug in a usb storage 
device (digital camera / mobile HD), the KDE4 session of the 2nd user crashes.
  After the crash, X will start again on the other virtual console and KDM will 
provide the option to login.
  
  I'll attache to the bug report the files: ~crashuser/.xsession-errors &
  /var/log/Xorg.1.log.old
