Public bug reported: Binary package hint: cups
PDF printing used to work both from inside Firefox and from stand-alone Reader. After a CUPs update (I'm pretty sure...), it doesn't work. Evince works however. The printer prints out: PCL XL error Subsystem: KERNEL Error: IllegalTag Operator: 0x00 Position: 2 I followed the instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems and I notice AppArmor audit errors in my messages log. These are like this: Jan 22 12:38:05 bill-desktop1 kernel: [1174365.999886] audit(1232649485.203:21): type=1502 operation="inode_permission" requested_mask="::rw" denied_mask="::rw" name="/dev/tty" pid=27015 profile="/usr/sbin/cupsd" namespace="default" Turning off AppArmor with "sudo aa-complain cupsd" did not help. My /var/log/cups/error_log is attached. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 8.04.2 Release: 8.04 ** Affects: cups (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Adobe Reader can't print to network HP3600dn after recent cups update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/320162 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
