Thanks.  So intel is fine.  I looked at the source of all the drivers in
jaunty and five of them are broken (vmware I'm unsure about):

xserver-xorg-video-ati-6.10.0
xserver-xorg-video-mga-1.4.9.dfsg (probably won't be an issue in
practice as it almost never accelerates)
xserver-xorg-video-i128-1.3.1 (Is anybody still using this one?)
xserver-xorg-video-openchrome-0.2.903+svn599

So at this point, the only input that I'm looking for is from people who
are using the closed source nvidia/ati driver (preferably on intrepid).
