Same problem here with DELL Optiplex 960. X gets stuck after resuming from screensaver, after a log period of inactivity (no keyb/mouse input), mostly after a night long. Ctrl+F2, Ctrl+Alt+Backspace and Ctrl+Alt+Del don't help. Pushing the power button, it shutdowns gracefully.
