Bendemann, Is this still an issue for you with KDE4.1.4 or KDE4.2rc1? There are packages for both available in Intrepid. This works reliably for me with KDE4.2rc1. I'm pretty sure I'm using the default settings
The only places I can think of that have settings which could affect this are: 1. Settings > Configure Notifications , in kmail 2.
