At first apply all available updates to Intrepid. There are several updates for the printing environment.
If you still cannot print, create a second print queue but in system- config-printer choose the "gdi" driver. Can you print with this queue? If this still does not work try the following: cupsctl FileDevice=yes cupsctl LogLevel=debug lpadmin -p test -E -v file:/dev/usb/lp0 -m lsb/usr/splix/samsung/ml1610.ppd -o PageSize=A4 Can you print through this queue (named "test")?
