** Description changed:

First reboot after upgrade to Intrepid alpha 6 (after having spot-
upgraded some packages, mainly kernel and nvidia drivers, to Intepid
versions before). X starts up with a black screen with an X icon in the
middle; keyboard leds responding but otherwise no response from the
system (disk silent). I hit ctrl-alt-F1 after about 10 seconds; mode-
switched but never actually displayed the console; instead, X started up
again (on vt 8 this time) and is working fine. This crash report came up
right after, so I'm assuming it's related.

Machine is a Toshiba Portege M200 tablet (wacom drivers are working fine
it seems), which has an nvidia NV34M chipset.
