** Description changed: As the title says, I just updated my Kubuntu 8.10 with synaptic, 15 minutes ago 4 files were updated. They concerned nvidia and sorrs I forgot (something telling we do not need a workaround for the actual kernel anymore). OK the result in short: Kubuntu starts but ends up with a BLACK SCREEN, no more kdm login. What the hell does this mean, I always thought updates were to fix bugs? Pleas tell me what I can give you on information?
