Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: dbus

Mythbuntu 8.10, kernel 2.6.27-9-generic

There are a number of crashes being reported by the system.

I installed Mythbuntu 8.04 from a live CD, but didn't configure Myth
completely. I upgraded this to 8.10. While I was trying to install the
latest kernel (-9), I lost power. When I restarted the PC, it wouldn't
boot (couldn't find the boot disk).

I restarted the PC & used the "recovery" mode, to fix broken packages.
This seemed to work OK.

However, The crash system is now reporting several packages which are not OK,
for example (there may be others):
fontconfig
update manager
samba-common
dbus

In addition, the ethernet driver hadn't been installed, so I had to get
help to sort that out.

Given the circumstances of the cause of the problem, it may not be
appropriate to generate a bug, but the crash system proposed that I do.
