hello, i juste read http://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=64106 as
shown by Daniel Holbach but could not have time to test it.

However, what is surprising is that:
"pref->wallpaper_enabled seems redundancy" with "prefs->enabled".

As far i as see those few lines, The maintainer of
libbackground/preferences.c should easily clean which one of "enabled"
or "wallpaper_enabled" is the right one, meaning Nautilus must or must
not handle the job to manage the X root window about background drawing.

As a pure user point of view, my gconf nautilus settings are:
/apps/nautilus/preferences/background_set = empty checkbox
/apps/nautilus/preferences/background_filename = empty string

May be should i remove my gconf tree to let nautilus re-install
something fresh ?

next informations should follow later.. (~/.gconf purge, et caetera).
