I have been running the 2.6.28-4-generic kernel from Jaunty alpha on my Intrepid install, and it seems to have fixed my problem. I've been using it for the past few days and have not seen any messages about the SATA port being frozen. I have, however, had my computer freeze up intermittently, but this may be related to something else.
