mrvanes: I shouldn't be commenting on this, since its not in its own bug, but with the DRI2 drivers, I believe you'll find there is a problem with syncing to VBlank. Try turning off sync to vblank in the compiz settings. For me, this made a difference of 1frame every 3 seconds -> complety usable.
