2 Vit Svarc: thanks for HowTo my 2c worth: 1. you don't need to do "make" as root (you only need root access for "make install") 2. with CONFIG_IEEE80211_DEBUG=y the ieee80211_rx.c won't compile
P.S. with linux 2.6.27-grsec (2.6.27.10) rtl8187 driver, I had Link Quality 13 through 16, Signal level:65/65 and frequent connection drops (under load), while atheros and intel WiFi cards reported Link Quality about 90/100 and worked OK. Under light load (pair of ssh sessions) the official rtl WiFi worked seemingly OK. P.P.S. compiled and installed r8187: it finds many more available APs than rtl8187 did, almost the same number as Atheros device. The big problem is that r8187 does not support WPA, so I cannot use it at all. I'll better return to rtl8187. -- rtl8187 drops connection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/182473 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
