Hi,

I can confirm this bug (or a very similar one) with my mother's laptop
(a Dell Latitude CSx) and the same wireless card:

ga...@chris:~ $ sudo lsusb
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0d5c:a002 Belkin F5D6050 802.11b Adapter
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

In answer to Brian's question, in my case the crash doesn't happen
during the boot process. Invariably, I get to the gdm login screen, get
to login and then after a minute or two (I suspect after a decent bit of
network access), the system freezes up completely with two of the 3
keyboard LEDs blinking together. The <ctrl><alt><sysrq> hotkeys do
nothing, a hard reset is all that you can do. I've repeated this
multiple times.

I booted the feisty 2.6.17 kernel and all worked fine again, so this
appears to be a regression. For now, for her benefit I've set up grub
to boot that kernel.

I upgraded to Hardy, hoping the newer 2.6.24 kernel wouldn't exhibit the
issue. It crashes in the same way as 2.6.22 did.

I think I need to try a couple of things:

1. Boot without the wifi card and see is everything okay (just to
    isolate that as the issue.
2. Perhaps upgrade to intrepid or install the Intrepid kernel and
    see does that crash too.

The driver for the Fd6050 is the at76c503 which was never accepted into
Linus' kernel. I think Ubuntu package it themselves. I guess the bug
should be against that package and should be linked against hardy (which
is supported for some time to come) as well as gutsy.
